The Facility Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the proper functioning and maintenance of the facility's infrastructure, equipment, and systems. This position requires a high level of technical expertise and problem-solving skills to oversee and manage maintenance activities specific to a pharmaceutical setting, adhering to strict regulatory requirements and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Perform scheduled and on-demand maintenance to support process equipment and systems, in accordance with established procedures and/or approved practices.
- Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify maintenance needs, potential issues, and develop preventive maintenance plans.
- Troubleshoot complex problems with facility systems, equipment, and infrastructure, and provide technical expertise to resolve issues.
- Oversee and perform repairs and maintenance tasks, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general maintenance.
- Coordinate and prioritize maintenance activities, ensuring timely completion and minimal disruption to operations.
- Develop and implement maintenance procedures and protocols to optimize the performance and lifespan of facility systems.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, ensuring availability when needed.
- Train and mentor junior technicians, providing guidance on best practices, safety protocols, and technical skills.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety within the maintenance team.
- High school diploma with a minimum of 3 years of related experience.
- Military training equivalent of above is acceptable.
- Previous experience in a cGMP environment is a plus.
- Familiarity with documentation practices used in a GMP environment.
- Experience documenting work in a CMMS (MAXIMO) preferable.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to team members and stakeholders.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor.
