Job Title: VP, Business Systems

Workiva is seeking a seasoned executive to lead our Business Systems organization, driving innovation and strategic growth. As VP, Business Systems, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive business technology strategy, optimizing technology capabilities to support diverse business goals and customer needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a strategic business technology plan, aligning with company objectives and driving business growth.
  • Lead and manage a high-performing Business Systems organization, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
  • Drive technology-focused operational strategy, simplifying processes and improving efficiency.
  • Leverage M&A experience to consolidate business systems, ensuring smooth transitions.
  • Maximize value from current team and technology, expanding and enhancing capabilities to meet diverse workforce needs.
  • Provide leadership and positioning Business Technology as a critical, efficient entity committed to continuous improvement.
  • Deploy capabilities across the organization that leverage AI and automation to drive productivity and efficiency.
  • Ensure world-class infrastructure aligned with business requirements, integrating diverse perspectives into strategic technology goals.
  • Implement fair and inclusive operational processes, executing projects aligned with diverse business lines.
  • Lead a global team, ensuring effective execution, fostering a culture that values diversity and collaboration.
  • Define, maintain, and improve quality standards, managing operating costs.
  • Establish and sustain a customer-centric approach through continuous improvement, considering diverse customer perspectives.

Requirements:
  • 15+ years of experience in technology leadership roles, demonstrating increasing complexity, scale, and responsibility.
  • Proven ability to lead with empathy, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment that empowers teams to thrive and collaborate effectively.
  • Deep knowledge of core GTM, Finance, and CPX systems like Salesforce, Workday, and Gainsight.
  • Undergraduate Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in a relevant field.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree is desirable.
  • Experience leading technology platforms, applications, and IT infrastructure at scale (in organizations exceeding $1B and with 5,000+ employees globally).
  • Proven track record of delivering cross-functional, tech-forward operational transformations across core functions (IT, Finance, and GTM).
  • Led and implemented strategies transforming global finance organizations, including successful ERP and Billing system implementations.
  • Successfully managed complex, global M&A initiatives, participating in the entire M&A life cycle from due diligence through post-merger integration and/or divestiture.
  • Demonstrates a background with a broad and deep understanding of emerging trends and technologies.
  • Agile thinker with a strong leadership presence, capable of influencing peers, senior executives, and the industry at large.
  • Able to manage up and down the organization internally and externally.
  • Provides examples of complex global stakeholder management in publicly traded organizations.
  • Has a track record of leading, organizing, and developing high-performing global teams through candid and empathetic coaching and mentoring.
  • Compelling leadership style with exceptional people management skills, program management, and business and technology expertise.
  • Inspires confidence through an intellectual and executive presence.
  • Acts as a true business partner across the organization, contributing to broader business conversations beyond functional expertise.
Travel Requirements & Working Conditions:
  • 15% travel for customer and internal meetings.
  • Reliable internet access for any period of time working remotely and not in a Workiva office.
