Activity Aid Job Summary

The Good Samaritan Home of Quincy is seeking a dedicated Activity Aid to join our team. As an Activity Aid, you will play a vital role in planning, developing, and implementing activity programs for our residents. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the quality of life for each resident, providing individualized attention and care.

Responsibilities:
  • Plan and schedule activities based on resident interests and needs.
  • Document resident activity interests, needs, and problems in their care plan.
  • Maintain activity participation records for each resident.
  • Attend resident care conferences as a member of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Complete activity assessments within 7 days of admission and update quarterly and annually.
  • Conduct 1:1 visits with residents to meet their activity interests.
  • Hold monthly neighborhood activity councils as directed by the Activity Director.
  • Assume responsibility for the proper care and maintenance of equipment, supplies, and decorations.
  • Implement community outings and special events as necessary.
  • Participate in in-service education and attend all in-service sessions related to the Activity Program.
  • Supervise volunteers as directed by your supervisor.
  • Ensure the safety of residents under your supervision.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 25 years of age or older.
  • Clean driving record and ability to be covered under our auto insurance.
  • Experience in a long-term care setting preferred.
  • Passionate, ambitious, and computer-literate individual.
  • 2+ years of experience in Home Care or related services preferred.
  • Ability to give instructions to others and lead.
