Job Title: Christmas Kettle Driver

Job Summary:

The Christmas Kettle Driver is a vital member of our team, responsible for transporting bell ringers, stands, buckets, and bells to and from designated locations as per the daily route schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transport bell ringers to their assigned locations, ensuring timely and safe arrival.
  • Manage bell ringer supplies, including kettles, stands, buckets, and bells.
  • Assist Corps Officers and Kettle Coordinators in supervising bell ringers, observing and reporting on their performance.
  • Provide bell ringers with instructions and guidance as conveyed by Corps Officers and Kettle Coordinators.
  • Nightly retrieve bell ringers, buckets, aprons, and bells, ensuring proper storage.
  • Ensure kettle slips are complete and signed by bell ringers before placing them in the bucket at the end of each shift.
  • Report any accidents, problems, or incidents to Corps Officers and Kettle Coordinators.

Requirements:

  • Must submit to and pass a background check.
  • Must complete Protecting the Mission – child safety training.
  • Must possess a valid Driver's License and be at least 21 years old.
  • Must have the ability to work as part of a dynamic team, maintain confidentiality, and relate positively to people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Must be willing to accept and support the mission of The Salvation Army.

Working Conditions:

The Christmas Kettle Driver will work in a fast-paced environment, requiring the ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, run, jump, and twist on an intermittent and sometimes continuous basis. The ability to grasp, push, pull objects, reach overhead, and carry office supplies is also essential. The position requires the ability to operate a computer, telephone, and similar technologies, as well as lift up to 25 lbs.
