About the Role

We're seeking a skilled Structures Fabricator to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for the assembly, inspection, and testing of spacecraft components and subcomponents. You will work closely with our mechanical design team to incorporate design for manufacturability and participate in regular build quality reviews to ensure that design intent is achieved and well-communicated.

  • Assemble and inspect spacecraft components and subcomponents.
  • Collaborate with the mechanical design team to incorporate design for manufacturability.
  • Participate in regular build quality reviews to ensure that design intent is achieved and well-communicated.
  • Identify automation opportunities and establish requirements as well as evaluating return on investment for each.
  • Support component level testing such as proof, leak, and functional checkouts.
  • Perform quality checks using nondestructive inspection methods.
About You

We're looking for a motivated and skilled individual who is a giver, not a taker. You should have an ability to make things happen and be exceptional at several things, yet willing to take on efforts in areas of weakness. You should also have a high school diploma or equivalency certificate and 1+ years of experience in hardware assembly, test, maintenance, material handling, and/or installation OR certificate from an accredited trade skills program in A&P, manufacturing, and/or electronics.

Required Attributes

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
  • 1+ years of experience in hardware assembly, test, maintenance, material handling, and/or installation OR certificate from an accredited trade skills program in A&P, manufacturing, and/or electronics.
  • Ability to lift at least 25 lbs unassisted.
Bonus Points for

  • A proven history of building/inspecting/testing hardware in launch vehicles or space systems.
  • Background in MIG/TIG/laser welding, with certifications in AWS D17.1 and D1.2.
  • Experience with forklifts, cranes and heavy transport equipment.
  • Use of precision measuring instruments.
  • Familiarity with CAD/PLM packages such as NX/Teamcenter.
  • Proficient with computers and the ability to use MS Office.
  • Having a portfolio of past manufacturing projects.
$70,000 - $120,000 a year

ITAR Requirements

To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
