Job Summary

This position is part of the dental team at Kansas Employer, responsible for delivering clinical dental services and preventive dental care in both clinic and outreach settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provides complete, comprehensive outpatient care for dental/oral conditions, including oral examination and treatment of conditions, and follow-up of problems detected.
  • Instructs assigned dental assistants and assists Director of Dental Services and/or Chief Clinical Officer with competencies and clinical evaluation of clinical staff.
  • Responsible for accurate, timely, and clear medical record documentation and provides appropriate follow-up with dental support staff.
  • Participates in dental outreach activities, provides clear written and oral communication to patients/guardians and employees, and participates in an on-call system for after-hours care.
  • Ability to weigh the relative costs and benefits of a potential action and assures that the dental policies as related to the services of Kansas Employer are current and accurate.
Requirements
  • Social and cultural sensitivity appropriate to ethnically and economically diverse patient-and employee-base.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the rationale of appropriate patient care and communicates through appropriate channels.
  • Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively and must be computer literate and proficient with the organization's electronic health record.
  • Must be able to maintain good inter-personal relationship with co-workers and other members of the health care team and the organization.
