Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team at WSP USA. As a key member of our Buildings Team, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance and guidance on electrical engineering projects, including design, development, and construction of utility, industrial, and commercial scale projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-level technical assistance and guidance on electrical engineering projects, including design, development, and construction of utility, industrial, and commercial scale projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute project work, including budgets, tracking hours and expenses, task completion, cost and quantities of materials/equipment/labor, technical calculations, permit applications, construction, compliance documentation, and regulatory and technical analysis memos.
  • Develop and review plans, specifications, and cost estimates, construction safety and phasing plans, and updating electrical infrastructure layout plans that require coordination with owners, other disciplines, sub-consultants, and clients.
  • Apply high-level electrical engineering techniques and processes to identify improvements for various infrastructure project phases, including concept development, preliminary design, final design, procurement, construction, and operation.
  • Perform complex professional electrical engineering and building technology work, including the design of single line, three line, wiring diagrams, general arrangement, substation layout and bus arrangement, grounding grid design and lightning protection.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 5 to 10+ years of relevant post-education experience as an electrical engineer providing design deliverables for capital projects in power generation, transmission, and distribution at a utility, industrial, or commercial scale.
  • Engineer license or ability to obtain.
  • Proficient with electrical engineering and smart building technology principles, practices, process, design/build, and the application to permitting and project work-related issues.
  • Extensive knowledge of infrastructure design.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Engineering.
  • 40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) (29 CFR preferred.
  • Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training desired.

Compensation

Expected Salary (all locations): $93,700 - $136,620
