Job Summary:

The Environmental Protection Specialist IV is a critical role within the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services, responsible for conducting environmental lead investigations to assess sources of lead exposure. This position requires strong analytical and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a culturally diverse environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct environmental lead investigations to identify sources of lead exposure
  • Collect and analyze environmental sampling data to evaluate and interpret data quality
  • Prepare technical investigation reports on findings and disseminate to appropriate parties
  • Enter cases and data into tracking database, ensuring high standards of documentation
  • Collaborate with other state, city, and local governmental agencies to facilitate data collection efforts
  • Participate in recommendations for updates on policies and procedures affecting environmental lead investigations
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental laws and regulations
  • Ability to work and communicate in a culturally diverse environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to travel 75%
Working Conditions:

This position requires the ability to climb, bend, and/or stand for extended periods of time during investigations/inspections. The ability to move and lift up to 50 lbs is also required.

Education and Experience:

A bachelor's degree in a related field and relevant experience are required for this position.
