Job Title: Environmental Services Aide

Join Encompass Health, a national leader in post-acute care, as an Environmental Services Aide. In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our patients, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine and isolation cleaning procedures according to infection control standards.
  • Clean and empty waste receptacles according to infection control standards.
  • Understand and institute standards for cleanliness and sanitation.
  • Use chemicals properly in accordance with manufacturer's labels.
  • Maintain and monitor equipment and supplies; store all supplies in proper areas.
  • Collaborate with Nursing and Admissions and insure patient rooms are ready for patient arrivals.
  • Demonstrate competent use of proper body mechanics in all activities.
  • Complete floor care including stripping, buffing, waxing and carpet care as required.
  • Deliver and distribute linen to patient care and treatment areas.
  • Organize, plan, and manage time effectively to complete assignments.
  • Meet position requirements and perform essential functions.
  • Complete mandatory training and courses required by completion date.
  • Reports questionable situations, concerns, complaints or harassment immediately.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous housekeeping experience preferred.
Working Conditions:
  • Indoor, temperature controlled, smoke-free environment.
  • Occasional outdoor exposure.
  • Exposure or potential exposure to blood and body fluids may be required.
  • Exposure to cleaning solvents & chemicals.
  • Handicapped accessible.
  • May work under stressful circumstances at times.
