Job Overview

Stark County Board of Developmental Disabilities is seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Transportation Specialist to transport passengers with developmental disabilities in a safe and timely manner.

Responsibilities
  • Drive passenger vehicles ranging from 9-65 passenger capacity, ensuring adherence to time schedules and routes.
  • Comply with Ohio Motor Vehicle Laws, safety rules established by the Ohio Department of Education, and Board Transportation Policies and Procedures.
  • Report delays or accidents promptly.
  • Complete daily paperwork and maintain accurate records of transported passengers.
  • Document incidents and accidents as they occur.
  • Perform pre- and post-trip bus safety inspections to ensure the vehicle's proper working condition.
  • Maintain safety equipment and communicate maintenance needs.
  • Ensure a safe and sanitary bus environment.
  • Know and apply securing devices for safety vests, wheelchairs, car seats, and seatbelts.
Requirements
  • Valid Ohio Commercial Driver's License with School Bus Endorsement.
  • A driving abstract reflecting less than six points.
  • CPR/First Aid certifications and MANDT Behavior Training.
  • Subject to random drug testing.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
Estimated Salary Range:

$40,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience.
