Compassionate Behavioral Support Specialist

About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Compassionate Behavioral Support Specialist to join our team at Pathway Caring for Children. As a key member of our staff, you will provide temporary relief to at-risk children, teens, and their families through behavioral health support.
Responsibilities:
- Behavioral Health Support: Collaborate with individuals and families to plan and provide short-term behavioral health support, focusing on problem-solving skills and implementing treatment plans.
- Daily Living Assistance: Offer support with daily living activities, transportation, and community-based activities to promote independence and self-regulation.
- Skills Development: Help individuals develop essential life skills, including socialization, problem-solving, and self-regulation, to enhance their participation in community activities.
- Recreation & Leisure: Provide therapeutic recreation and leisure activities as outlined in person-centered service plans to promote overall well-being.
Requirements:
- Credentialing as a Prevention Specialist through the Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board is mandatory.
- A minimum of 6 months of experience working with at-risk children, teens, and families is required.
- Applicants must be at least 21 years old and have a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, along with the ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and groups, are essential.
- Meeting background screening requirements as defined by OAC code 5101:2-5-09 is necessary.
- Demonstrating cultural humility and understanding of the diversity of children and families served is crucial.
