Associate Director of Admissions and Scholarship

Cornell University is seeking an Associate Director of Admissions and Scholarship to join our team. As a key member of the Admissions Committee, you will be responsible for providing insight and guidance on selection and yield in your territory(ies) as well as assessing admissions criteria to develop effective recruiting & yield plans, evaluate applications, conduct admissions interviews, attend recruiting events, and recommend scholarship decisions.
This position works closely with the Executive Director of Admissions and Scholarship on developing our year-long recruitment events calendar and with the Director of Admissions and Scholarship on developing and executing a year-long yield strategy.
Frequent travel (domestic and international) is required.
Responsibilities:- Provide insight and guidance on selection and yield in your territory(ies)
- Assess admissions criteria to develop effective recruiting & yield plans
- Evaluate applications and conduct admissions interviews
- Attend recruiting events and recommend scholarship decisions
- Work closely with the Executive Director of Admissions and Scholarship on developing our year-long recruitment events calendar
- Work closely with the Director of Admissions and Scholarship on developing and executing a year-long yield strategy
- Experience in and/or demonstrated commitment to supporting diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and wellbeing
- Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds
- Experience incorporating the perspectives of multiple communities, including communities of color
- Ability to serve as an advocate for individuals of all ethnicities, genders, ages, and backgrounds
- Bachelor's degree with two to four years of experience or equivalent combination
- Experience with a quantitative, market-based approach to planning recruitment activities and exceptional oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and follow-through
- A clear understanding of, or the ability to understand, higher education issues
- A commitment to excellence and to providing a high degree of customer service
