Job Summary

The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for assisting with the purchasing of products by owning the PO process, conducting market research, and maintaining relationships with vendors. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities within deadlines and under limited supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Purchase goods and services according to company policies and procedures.
  • Oversee and maintain current inventory; coordinate with managers, determine inventory quantities, and order materials as needed.
  • Assess financial risks of purchases, compare prices, specifications, and delivery dates to determine the best bid among potential suppliers.
  • Monitor supplier performance, ensure timely deliveries, and resolve any issues.
  • Match the purchase order to the receiver at time of delivery.
Requirements
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Good working knowledge of purchasing strategies.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software and QuickBooks.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access all areas of the facility to determine purchasing needs.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • Minimum one year of buyer experience.
Additional Requirements
  • Follow all SAFETY rules and procedures.
  • Read and follow the Employee's Manual requirements.
  • Willingness to work overtime when asked.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
