The Certified Technician is responsible for executing vehicle repairs and maintenance as directed, adhering to dealership and manufacturer standards, while fostering Customer loyalty through trust and confidence in AutoNation as a reliable service provider for their vehicle's safety and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting vehicle repairs and maintenance as specified on repair orders with precision and efficiency, in line with dealership and manufacturer standards to enhance Customer loyalty.
- Maintaining regular communication with the Parts Department and Service Advisors to effectively manage workflow and Customer interactions.
- Diagnosing malfunctions and performing repairs as authorized by the Customer.
- Carrying out comprehensive multi-point inspections to make informed recommendations that ensure the safety and reliability of Customer vehicles.
- Documenting all work performed on each vehicle in the repair order.
- Managing an inventory of standard Technician's tools that are not typically cataloged by the Service department as "special tools."
- Staying updated on factory technical bulletins and participating in relevant factory-sponsored training sessions.
- Delivering an outstanding Customer experience to promote loyalty.
- The effectiveness of a Certified Technician is evaluated based on achieving:
- Targeted production levels
- Targeted sales figures
- Targeted Customer Satisfaction Index scores
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as an automotive technician in a dealership setting.
- OEM Mercedes-Benz Certified and/or certifications from BMW, Audi, or Porsche.
- Automotive technical training (specifics may vary based on store requirements).
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and follow-up skills.
- A valid in-state driver's license with a clean driving record.
