Practical Nurse or Medical Assistant Position

Key Responsibilities
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) delivers nursing care to designated patients under the direct oversight of a Registered Nurse (RN) or another assigned supervisor. The LPN is responsible for accepting delegated tasks from the RN or assigned supervisor to address the needs of patients and their families.
The LPN gathers data through observation and relays information to assist the RN and/or provider in patient assessment and care planning.
As a vital member of the healthcare team, the LPN collaborates with the RN and assigned supervisor to fulfill the needs of patients and their families.
The LPN provides care in alignment with the patient care plan, organizational policies, and principles of relationship-based care.
The LPN should possess strong communication skills, be adept at mentoring and instructing, and may participate in committees or projects, including quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited practical nursing program or successful completion of LPN Boards after a specified duration in a professional nursing program is required. If graduation occurred more than two years ago, one year of LPN experience in a relevant setting is necessary. Preferred is one year of LPN experience within the last five years. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
Experience in a collaborative team environment is required. Proficiency in computer skills is necessary, with prior experience in electronic medical record systems preferred. Availability for daytime hours is required, with flexibility to meet staffing needs. The ability to adapt to unpredictable situations in the workplace is crucial. Graduation from an accredited practical nursing program is preferred. A current LPN license in accordance with state regulations is mandatory.

Arizona and Florida:
Must maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Health Care Providers.
Midwest:
Must maintain current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers from recognized programs such as the American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Additional specialty certifications or training may be required based on the work area.
Positions not located on campus may not necessitate current BLS competency as determined by the work area.
