Practical Nurse or Medical Assistant Position

Key Responsibilities
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) delivers nursing care to designated patients under the direct oversight of a Registered Nurse (RN) or other assigned supervisor. The LPN is responsible for accepting delegated tasks from the RN or supervisor to meet the needs of patients and their families.
The LPN gathers data through careful observation and communicates vital information to assist the RN and/or healthcare provider in patient assessment and care planning.
As a member of the healthcare team, the LPN collaborates with the RN and healthcare provider to address the needs of patients and their families.
The LPN provides care in alignment with the patient care plan, organizational policies, and principles of relationship-based care.
The LPN should possess strong communication skills, be adept at mentoring and instructing others, and may participate in committees or projects, including those focused on quality improvement.
Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited practical nursing program or successful completion of LPN Boards after a defined period in a professional nursing program is required. If graduation occurred more than two years ago, one year of LPN experience in a relevant setting is necessary.
Preferred qualifications include one year of LPN experience within the last five years and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience in a collaborative team environment is essential. Proficiency in computer skills is required, with prior experience in electronic medical record systems being advantageous. Flexibility in working hours may be necessary to meet staffing requirements, along with the ability to adapt to unpredictable situations in the workplace. Graduation from an accredited practical nursing school is preferred, and a current LPN license in accordance with state regulations is mandatory.
Additional Requirements
For Arizona and Florida: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Health Care Providers is required.
For the Midwest: Current BLS certification from recognized programs such as the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is necessary. Additional specialty certifications or training may be required based on the work area.
