Key Responsibilities
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) delivers nursing care to designated patients under the direct oversight of a Registered Nurse (RN) or other assigned supervisor. The LPN accepts delegated tasks from the RN or assigned supervisor to address the needs of patients and their families.
The LPN gathers data through careful observation and communicates relevant information to assist the RN and/or provider in patient assessment and care planning.
As a vital member of the healthcare team, the LPN collaborates with the RN, assigned supervisor, and provider to fulfill the needs of patients and their families.
The LPN provides care in alignment with the patient care plan, organizational policies, and principles of relationship-based care.
Possessing strong communication skills, the LPN is adept at mentoring and instructing others and may engage in committees or projects, including quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Must be a graduate of an accredited practical nursing program or have passed the LPN Boards after completing a defined period in a professional nursing program. If graduation occurred more than two years ago, one year of relevant LPN experience is required.
Preferred: One year of LPN experience within the last five years. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
Experience in a collaborative team environment is necessary. Proficiency in computer skills is required, with prior experience in electronic medical record systems being advantageous. The ability to work daytime hours is expected, with flexibility to meet staffing needs. Adaptability to unpredictable situations in the workplace is crucial. A current LPN license is required as per state regulations.
Additional Requirements
For Arizona and Florida: Maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Health Care Providers.
For the Midwest: Maintain current Basic Life Support certification from an accredited program such as the American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Additional specialty certifications or training may be required based on the work area.
Compensation and BenefitsCompensation will be determined based on education, experience, and tenure, considering internal equity. Benefits are available for eligible employees.
Work Schedule
