Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Bridge Maintenance Specialist to join our team at the New York State Thruway Authority. As a key member of our infrastructure maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our bridges and highways.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on bridges and highways, including paving, patching, and right-of-way maintenance.
  • Operate a variety of construction equipment and vehicles, including front-end loaders, trucks with plows and spreaders, and tractors.
  • Assist in the repair and erection of fences, lighting, guide rails, delineators, and signs.
  • Perform concrete and steel repairs, including removal of concrete with pneumatic tools and sand blasting steel and concrete.
  • Paint and maintain stream channels.
Requirements
  • Possession of a valid New York State Commercial Driver License Class B with tank endorsement and no air brake restriction.
  • One year of experience operating construction equipment and vehicles.
  • Two years of experience in carpentry, masonry, ironwork, welding, or other trade related to bridge construction or repair.
