Janitorial Assistant

About the Position:

The Janitorial Assistant will provide exceptional cleaning and maintenance services to the Gulfport Sportsplex, ensuring a clean and safe environment for guests and staff. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and flexible individual who is willing to take on routine cleaning and special projects as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide Excellent Customer Service: Greet guests and provide information and wayfinding as needed, providing courteous and friendly service to all visitors.
• Clean and Sanitize Facilities: Perform general clean-up of all areas of the building, including office spaces, meeting rooms, bathrooms, and public areas.
• Monitor and Clean Spills: Monitor for spills throughout the facility and clean as needed.
• Clean Floor Surfaces and Glass: Clean all floor surfaces and glass in the facility.
• Maintain Bathrooms: Clean and maintain all bathrooms, including toilets, sinks, floors, and restocking supplies.
• Clean Guest Seating and Lobby Area: Clean all guest seating and lobby area.
• Facility Trash and Recycling Removal: Remove garbage and recycling daily and prepare bins for weekly pick-up.
• Complete Special Projects: Complete special projects, daily assignments, and other duties as directed by management.

Requirements:

• Housekeeping/Janitorial/Porter Experience: Preferred experience in housekeeping, janitorial, or porter services.
• High School Diploma/GED: Required or working towards a high school diploma or GED.
• Flexibility: Willingness to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and some holidays.
• Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and ability to take direction and follow through.

Physical Demands:

• Lifting and Moving Objects: Physically capable of lifting and moving objects up to 50 pounds as necessary.
• Sitting and Standing: May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time, whether indoors or outdoors, and squat, stoop, or bend.
• Navigating the Facility: Ability to navigate around the facility for long periods of time.
• Operating a Computer: Will be required to operate a computer.
