Position Overview

Salary: Competitive

Role Summary:

The primary responsibility of this role is to lead the modeling efforts for all products and carriers at Axcelus Financial Life Insurance Company. This includes overseeing the maintenance and enhancement of the MG-ALFA model, conducting monthly financial forecasts and analyses, performing Asset Adequacy Testing, managing Financial Reporting, analyzing profitability, fulfilling annual PBR obligations, and executing ORSA stress tests. This position will initially supervise one direct report, with potential for team expansion in the future. The role is highly visible to the Executive team and ownership group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and update the Actuarial MG-ALFA model.
  • Manage the institutional value and economic models for new business.
  • Conduct monthly financial projections and reporting, including Asset Adequacy Testing and PBR requirements.
  • Perform stress testing for ORSA and CISSA reports.
  • Lead annual financial reporting and budget preparation.
  • Support pricing strategies for new business initiatives.
  • Supervise policyholder service support activities.
  • Mentor and manage one or more Actuarial students.
  • Engage in ad-hoc projects as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proficiency in MG-ALFA is essential.
  • Strong understanding of life insurance and annuity products.
  • Advanced skills in Excel; familiarity with Visual Basic is advantageous.
  • Exceptional communication abilities, capable of conveying technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization capabilities.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Commitment to accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proactive in identifying product management needs and taking ownership of results.

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline.
  • 5-10 years of experience in insurance and/or actuarial roles.
  • Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) or Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation.
