ROLE SUMMARY:
The Clinical Nurse Specialist provides expert nursing care to patients at Urology America, MSO. This role includes acting as a patient advocate and a communication bridge between healthcare providers and patients. The Clinical Nurse Specialist will exercise sound judgment in sharing patient information with healthcare professionals while ensuring confidentiality is maintained.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Registered Nurse license in the State of Texas
- Preferred experience in urology surgical nursing
- Minimum of two (2) years in surgical office-based nursing, emergency care, or operating room nursing
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
- Ability to apply clinical judgment effectively while interacting with patients, families, and medical staff
- Flexibility and teamwork in collaborating with all staff and physicians at Urology America, MSO
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Act as a patient advocate, ensuring a safe and respectful environment that upholds patient rights and dignity.
- Possess a thorough understanding of anatomy, physiology, and patient care standards as mandated by the Texas nursing board.
- Under physician supervision, communicate results from diagnostic tests to patients.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions, including chief complaints and medical histories, in compliance with Texas scope of practice guidelines.
- Ensure seamless communication of patient information among healthcare providers to facilitate continuity of care.
- Relay practitioner assessments and treatment plans to patients or their designated family members under supervision.
- Inform new patients about the urgency of their medical issues in coordination with the healthcare team.
- Document essential information in medical records and prepare notes for physician review.
- Educate patients regarding procedures and consultations.
- Demonstrate knowledge of OSHA regulations.
- Provide age-appropriate care based on established standards.
- Uphold confidentiality in all clinical and administrative matters.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisory staff.
