Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify sample submissions to Quality Control
  • Document sample transactions in Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
  • Handle, store, and organize samples
  • Deliver samples to QC laboratories for testing as required
  • Interact with outside customers and functional peer groups
  • Fulfill sample pull requests
  • Comply with all pertinent regulatory agency requirements
  • Conduct temperature, environmental, and/or CO2 monitoring
  • Prepare samples for shipment
  • Perform sample inventory and disposal
  • Ensure compliance with SOPs; report any quality or other anomalies through the Deviation Notification and Resolution system

Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Sample Management Specialists
  • Coordinate, support, and monitor performance of team through quality metrics while ensuring client deadlines are met
  • Coordinate with client contacts to communicate status of deliverables, determine priorities, and set timelines
  • Set individual and team goals to develop the scope of work and responsibilities of the team
  • Manage time off and payroll entries of the team
  • May participate in new hire interviews
  • Support the on-boarding process of new employees
  • Participate in training of other employees

Requirements:

  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a regulated environment
  • Experience with Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
  • Knowledge of quality control procedures
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
