Shutdown Coordinator Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and skilled Shutdown Coordinator to oversee the strategy, planning, and execution of our shutdowns.

This role requires exceptional organizational skills, project management expertise, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of maintenance planning and a continuous improvement mindset.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain shutdown schedules to ensure timely completion of all tasks.
  • Coordinate site integration issues to ensure smooth execution of the shutdown.
  • Forecast shutdown resource loads and coordinate with contract services to maintain appropriate staffing levels.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to develop and implement shutdown plans.
  • Control the cost and timing of the shutdown to meet business and site needs.
  • Define work lists and enforce administrative controls to prevent add-ons after freeze date.
  • Develop critical paths integrating operations, projects, and maintenance activities for optimal efficiency.
  • Estimate shutdown costs based on scoped work and adjust plans accordingly.
  • Identify opportunities for frequency extension between shutdowns and communicate effectively.
  • Prepare and communicate closure reports to ensure proper documentation and learnings.
  • Lead core shutdown team to ensure seamless coordination and execution of all activities.
  • Update and archive plans for future shutdowns.
  • Collaborate with reliability staff to update Reliability and Maintenance Strategy.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma/GED Equivalent.
  • 3+ years of experience in a chemical manufacturing facility.
  • Knowledge and understanding of maintenance workflow in various crafts.
  • Ability to work overtime and holidays as needed.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with diverse teams.
  • Exceptional multi-tasking, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities to inspire and influence team members.
  • Self-starter with the ability to prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience planning jobs in Oracle.
  • Previous experience in a foreman or leadership role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, such as Word and Excel, with the ability to quickly learn new systems.

Salary Range: $96,900 to $125,900/annually

Status: Full-time
