Maintenance Planner Job Description

At SSi People, we're seeking a skilled Maintenance Planner to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and administer all work order requests in our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Communicate with requesters to determine the scope of work and priority
  • Receive and verify all written and electronic customer work requests
  • Update information into CMMS and visit job areas to assess the scope of work
  • Determine and outline tasks required to complete work, purchase required parts, and determine appropriate craft and labor group
  • Ensure every maintenance task is planned for safety and quality, and keep requesters informed of work status
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance tracking and documentation programs, and review scope and frequency of assignments with managers
  • Identify resources and materials required for work, verify availability, and arrange for alternatives when necessary
  • Review status of preventative maintenance work orders to ensure on-time completion, plan shutdown activities, and forecast preventive maintenance activities
  • Assist with coordination and recommendation of outside services when required, and review maintenance job plans for accuracy
  • Build and maintain maintenance crafts schedule, lead routine meetings with departments, and participate in daily morning meetings with work center teams
  • Prioritize maintenance work orders focusing on safety, quality, and production within a cGMP environment, and maintain a comprehensive backlog of maintenance activity
  • Train maintenance personnel in proper reporting procedures and CMMS software use, generate reports to inform maintenance management teams, and forecast workforce needs for equipment maintenance
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers as required, and ensure all preventative maintenance work is completed on time

Requirements:

  • Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and error-proofing habits
  • Knowledge of facility and manufacturing process, and ability to problem-solve across functional units
  • Knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems, preferably MAXIMO
  • Maintenance experience in a manufacturing realm, with strong attention to detail and documentation skills
  • GMP experience
