Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Intellectual Disability Professional I to join our team at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and independence of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement highly individualized Personal Support Plans (PSPs) that promote dignity, respect, choice, and personal rights for each assigned individual.
  • Coordinate the development of programs and services based on individual needs, strengths, and preferences.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of PSPs and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Provide leadership and serve as a role model to home, program, and professional staff.
  • Collaborate with a variety of service providers, professionals, and clinicians to ensure comprehensive support.

Requirements:
  • Knowledge of the Personal Support Team (PST) process and rehabilitation and skills acquisition programs for persons with intellectual disabilities.
  • Ability to coordinate programmatic and clinical services and supports, prepare and maintain records, and communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and work harmoniously with staff at all levels.
  • Skills in facilitating PST meetings, using personal computers to create documents and reports, and providing instruction on behavioral support techniques.
