Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Retail Sales Associate to join our team at Batteries Plus. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, selling products, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Greet customers, determine their needs, and answer questions in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Sales: Suggest and sell add-on items, participate in retail store and commercial sales activities to achieve sales and profit goals.
  • Technical: Install batteries, perform tests, and tech work, including replacing screens, batteries, and other components on smartphones and tablets.
  • Merchandising and Inventory: Assist in all store operations, including rotating and stocking inventory, loading and unloading products, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent and 6 months prior work experience preferred.
  • Technical Aptitude: Ability to work with small parts and tools, and possess technical knowledge of batteries and devices.
  • Communication Skills: Good listening and verbal communication skills, with a customer-focused approach.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to calculate simple math, percentages, ratios, and algebraic expressions, and possess organizational and analytical problem-solving skills.
Work Environment

The physical demands of this position require the ability to regularly stand, walk, and use hands to handle or touch; frequently talk, hear, and lift up to 50 pounds; and occasionally sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach above shoulders, and lift more than 50 pounds.

This position requires the employee to regularly use electrical cables, simple hand tools, a magnifying glass, spot welders, automotive and electronic testing equipment, as well as regular use of a phone, fax, computer, and printer/copier.

The level of noise in the working environment is moderate, and protective clothing and/or equipment used in this position includes goggles, gloves, and steel-toed shoes.
