The Clinical Laboratory Scientist plays a crucial role in conducting a wide range of laboratory analyses that are essential for the diagnosis and management of medical conditions. As a specialized children's hospital, we offer an extensive array of pediatric medical and surgical services, supported by a robust team of pediatric professionals. Our institution is also a certified Level I Pediatric Trauma center, providing critical care across a vast region.
Role Responsibilities:
The Clinical Laboratory Scientist is responsible for performing diagnostic tests across various laboratory sectors, including Hematology, Chemistry, Microbiology, and Transfusion Services. These professionals serve as technical resources for clinical teams and ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results through rigorous quality control and maintenance protocols.

- Assisting in the evaluation of new laboratory equipment
- Engaging in technical documentation
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
- Acting as interim team leader when necessary
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific field from an accredited institution.
- Certification as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist, or an equivalent credential.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Experience with laboratory information management systems.
- Background in relevant clinical laboratory areas.
- Proficiency in using laboratory software and data management tools.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and patients.
- Proficiency in operating computers and laboratory equipment.
- Capability to read and interpret laboratory instruments and documentation.
- Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while performing tasks.
