Director of Trade Marketing

Champion Petfoods is seeking a highly skilled Director, Trade Marketing to join our team. As a key player in our company's growth, you will lead strategic planning, trade optimization, sales forecasting, and sales operations.
You will develop user-friendly tools and in-depth analyses to inform strategic business decisions both internally and externally with our customers. Regular interface with senior leadership and strategic customers will be required to implement growth plans.
This is a remote role based in the Nashville, TN or Phoenix, AZ regions. You will have the opportunity to:
- Create and implement sales strategies and plans to grow sales in key markets within all product categories.
- Collaborate across the business to develop go-to-market strategies and plans based on sound customer and market understanding.
- Integrate data from multiple sources to drive foresight and strategy.
- Lead customer-level business planning, including pro forma modeling.
- Lead top-down planning exercises.
- Prepare monthly reports and/or manage special projects as directed or assigned.
- Develop and maintain successful professional working relationships with relevant corporate departments.
- Develop, create, and explain business analytics to deliver critical and relevant insights and plans to construct growth agendas.
- Internal analysis including product pack architecture, pricing strategy, and forecasting.
- Keep current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors to enable strategic adjustments.
- Oversee Sales Communication Prep.
- Lead Industry Event Prep.
- Perform other tasks as required or assigned.
We are looking for a candidate with:
- Post-secondary education in Business or a related field (Bachelor's degree or equivalent).
- Minimum eight years of strategic planning, insights, and/or analytics experience, preferably within a consumer packaged goods environment.
- Data/Insights mining expert with syndicated tools.
- Proficient in trade modeling.
- Experienced in creating and building tools and analysis processes.
- Customer service orientation with the ability to effectively communicate across diverse stakeholder groups both internal and external.
- Strong analytical skills and proven experience translating data into actionable insights.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and execute according to timelines.
- Ability to lead presentations/meetings.
- Some travel between U.S./Canada.
- Some extended hours of work may be required.
