Job Title: Youth Care Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Care Worker to join our team at Presbyterian Children's Homes and Services. As a Youth Care Worker, you will play a vital role in providing Christ-centered care and support to children and families in need.

Job Summary:

The Youth Care Worker will work as a member of the treatment team to provide supervision, structure, and guidance to youth. This includes utilizing TBRI techniques to daily living skills, anger management, and conflict resolution skills. The successful candidate will also conduct daily health and safety inspections, maintain accurate documentation, and participate in mandatory team meetings and trainings.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide supervision, structure, and guidance to youth using TBRI techniques
  • Conduct daily health and safety inspections and maintain accurate documentation
  • Maintain accurate and current daily documentation of each youth in CSWIS and other documentation
  • Dispense medication as prescribed and maintain accurate medication records
  • Participate in mandatory team meetings, individual supervisory sessions, and trainings
  • Implement daily life skills groups and document accordingly
  • Provide transportation of youth to school, appointments, and other activities as needed
Requirements:
  • Minimum of High School Diploma or GED; human service college courses, associate degree, or bachelor's degree preferred
  • Ability to develop and maintain therapeutic relationships with youth displaying behavioral and emotional problems
  • Personal maturity and ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and have prior childcare experience
  • Ability to drive a van and/or automobile safely, both day and night
Working Conditions:

The Youth Care Worker will work in a home-like cottage/house setting and in the community at times. The position requires prolonged standing and walking, bending and reaching, and a great deal of stamina to work long hours. The successful candidate must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and participate in the safe physical containment of an escalated resident engaged in self-harming or physically aggressive behavior toward others.
