Fire Alarm Service Technician Job Description

At Fire Safety and Protection LLC, we are seeking a highly skilled Fire Alarm Service Technician to join our team. As a Fire Alarm Service Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing fire alarm systems in buildings to ensure they are in compliance with local, state, and national fire codes and standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install and test fire alarm systems in accordance with local, state, and national codes and standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance on fire alarm systems to ensure they are functioning properly.
  • Repair fire alarm systems as needed.
  • Conduct regular testing and inspections of fire alarm systems to ensure they are in compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • Troubleshoot system malfunctions and make necessary repairs to ensure proper operation.
  • Respond to emergency calls to repair or replace damaged or malfunctioning fire alarm equipment.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inspection results, repair work, and equipment maintenance.
  • Provide training and education to building owners, facility managers, and employees on the proper use and maintenance of fire alarm systems.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in fire codes and standards and recommend changes to fire alarm systems as needed.
  • Work with fire departments to coordinate emergency response procedures and provide assistance during emergencies.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Specialized training in fire alarm systems and service.
  • Certification from a recognized organization, such as the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET), may be required.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Attention to detail and ability to analyze technical data and reports.
