Position Summary
Become an integral part of a diverse organization committed to enhancing the health and wellness of the unique communities we serve.
This role is situated within the Emergency Department and involves working part-time hours, specifically from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM every other weekend.
Knowledge of EPIC systems is highly desirable.
Role Responsibilities:
This position is accountable for ensuring that patient access procedures are executed in accordance with established protocols and accurately documented in ADT and other clinical information systems. The role aims to meet departmental and organizational objectives for process accuracy and timeliness.
Key Duties Include:
1. Verifying and updating essential ADT information (such as insurance verification and patient demographics) to ensure patient safety and billing accuracy.
2. Scheduling new and follow-up patient appointments as necessary, and making efforts to reschedule any cancellations.
3. Completing and documenting all required governmental, regulatory, financial, and contractual forms in compliance with procedures, ensuring that documents are scanned and saved in the correct locations.
4. Utilizing price estimation tools during the registration process to provide patients with accurate cost estimates.
5. Meeting departmental targets for upfront collections, including deposits, estimated amounts due, co-pays, and prior balances.
6. Actively engaging in departmental quality assurance by utilizing system work queues to minimize errors and improve individual performance.
Education Requirements:
* High School Diploma or GED is required.
Professional Experience Requirements:
* A minimum of two (2) years of experience in customer service and/or clerical roles is necessary.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proficiency in relevant systems and processes is essential for success in this role.
