Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Private Credit Associate to join our investment team at Selby Jennings. In this role, you will play a key part in evaluating investment opportunities, supporting portfolio management, and driving value creation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Investment Analysis & Execution: Conduct deep-dive financial and operational analysis, build complex financial models, and perform valuation assessments to evaluate and execute investment opportunities.
  • Due Diligence: Lead detailed due diligence efforts on potential investments, covering financial, operational, and market aspects.
  • Deal Structuring: Assist in structuring and negotiating deals, including working on transaction documents and coordinating with legal and advisory teams.
  • Portfolio Management: Collaborate with portfolio company management teams to drive operational improvements, implement growth strategies, and optimize value creation.
  • Market Research: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitive landscapes, and market dynamics, particularly within the tech and finance sectors.
  • Relationship Building: Develop and maintain relationships with industry professionals, banking partners, and other stakeholders to enhance deal flow and business opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of experience in investment banking.
  • Strong financial modeling and valuation skills, with the ability to assess investment viability and perform detailed quantitative analysis.
  • Proven experience conducting due diligence and supporting deal execution.
  • Preference for candidates with backgrounds from traditional banking programs.
  • Strong preference for candidates with a tech focus (though not required).
  • Self-directed individuals who have worked as sole analysts on deals or models are highly desirable.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
