Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Labor and Delivery team at Union General Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and contribute to a positive and supportive work environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care plans.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to meet patient needs and achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Make staff assignments and provide guidance and direction to personnel as directed.
  • Assist in new staff orientation and participate in ongoing education and training.
  • Perform under the direction of the Nurse Manager and in accordance with the Georgia Registered Professional Nurse Practice Act.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing.
  • Minimum of Associates Degree of Nursing; Preferred Bachelors Degree of Nursing.
  • At least 2 years of experience; Preferred: 2-5 years in recent job-related experience.
  • Registered and Licensed by the State of Georgia.
  • Current certification in CPR, or completion of CPR course (AHA) within 60 days of employment.
  • ACLS certification, or ACLS obtained within 90 days of employment.
  • AWHONN approved Electronic Fetal Monitoring class required within 6 months of hire; EFM Certification preferred; STABLE preferred.
Working Conditions

Must be proficient in verbal and written communication. Must be able to work at a personal computer. Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods and to be able to lift, push, bend and carry loads of up to 50 pounds; must be able to lift and move patients. Must be able to concentrate despite frequent interruptions. Must be emotionally mature and able to function effectively under stress.
