Job Summary

Horner Industrial Group is seeking a skilled Pump Shop Manager to oversee the daily operations of our pump repair shop. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical repair and a proven track record of managing a team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assign daily tasks to shop employees and allocate work to ensure effective use of time and resources.
  • Help organize and arrange tools, materials, and paperwork for shop employees.
  • Report defects in materials, rework, missed inspections, and job delays to the Operations Manager and recommend solutions.
  • Review inspection documentation to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Responsible for the final inspection of all machined parts and assembled equipment prior to shipment.
  • Communicate with other Horner divisions and sales teams on deliverables and status of joint work.
  • Implement and practice all disassembly, troubleshooting, assembly, inspection, and other shop procedures.
  • Ensure safe work practices for shop employees.
  • Maintain a professional work ethic and demonstrate courtesy and respect in all aspects of work.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in pump repair or servicing, or completion of an accredited mechanical or military training program, along with 5+ years in pump repair.
  • Understand and operate machines, millwright work, and basic welding.
  • Ability to read complex drawings, understand specifications, and use precision measuring equipment.
  • Must have in-depth experience with diagnostic, troubleshooting, and failure analysis processes.
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn safety rules and procedures, and operating policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with others at all levels of the organization.
  • Must be able to perform all essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation.
