We are seeking a skilled Assembly Technician to join our production team at Peerless Pump. As an Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for assembling, mounting, and testing various pumps and combining them with other components and accessories into complete pumping systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble and disassemble pumps and other components
  • Mount pumps and accessories to base plates using mechanical fasteners and/or welding
  • Make electrical and mechanical connections
  • Move materials as required
  • Perform layout work for mounting and testing
  • Operate manual and power-driven tools, including welding and acetylene cutting equipment
  • Perform hydraulic pressure tests and record results
  • Provide training and instruction to other employees as required
  • Assist in conducting performance and run tests, reading and recording test data as needed
  • Receive, store, and retrieve materials
  • Perform work in accordance with company safety and quality standards
Requirements
  • Secondary school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) or equivalent
  • Technical education in a related field, such as electrical, welding, or precision measuring instruments
  • Specialized on-the-job training in pump hydraulics, diesel engine start-up, and control panel operation
  • Proof of current welding certification or ability to be certified
  • Experience with vertical and/or horizontal pumps, material handling equipment, and lifting equipment
  • Computer skills, including MS Windows, Lab View, and Excel
  • Manual, power-driven, and pneumatic hand tools, electronic engraver, power saw, cutoff wheel, grinders, hydraulic press, radial drill, arbor press, Arc Welding, acetylene cutting equipment, and threading machine
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to read and apply mathematics to work from engineering drawings and schematics
  • Basic understanding of the fundamentals of electricity
