About the Position
San Jose State University is seeking qualified candidates for a pool of part-time, non-tenure track, lecturer positions in the Department of Justice Studies. These positions are open until filled and will be reviewed as applications are received.
Job Summary
The Department of Justice Studies at San Jose State University is committed to providing high-quality education to students from diverse backgrounds. We are seeking lecturers who can teach a variety of courses in the field of justice studies, including introductory courses, upper-division courses, and special topics courses.
Responsibilities
Lecturers in the Department of Justice Studies are responsible for teaching a range of courses, including:
- Introduction to Justice Studies
- Justice and Society
- Crime and Justice
- Research Methods in Justice Studies
- Special Topics in Justice Studies
Lecturers are also expected to:
- Develop and teach courses that align with the department's curriculum and program goals
- Advise students and provide guidance on academic and career-related matters
- Participate in departmental and university service activities, such as committee work and professional development
- Engage in scholarly activities, such as research and publication, to maintain expertise in the field
Qualifications
To be considered for these positions, applicants must have a Master's degree or higher in Justice Studies or a related field. Preference will be given to applicants with a Ph.D. in Justice Studies or a related field. Applicants must also have teaching experience and a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring students from diverse backgrounds.
