Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Security Technician to join our team at TEKsystems. As a Security Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electronic security systems, including access control, CCTV, and intrusion detection systems.

Responsibilities
  1. Respond to customer service calls, scheduled maintenance calls, and emergency service calls in a timely manner, diagnosing and troubleshooting system issues, and completing necessary repairs and replacements.
  2. Identify and resolve problems for various types of service calls, including emergency and after-hours calls, and provide customers with accurate and detailed service reports.
  3. Act as a customer's best service provider, ensuring the company is their first choice for service, and execute all service calls in accordance with Federal, State, and local regulations, as well as company health and safety policies and procedures.
  4. Provide technical support to end users and field labor, and proactively seek technical guidance from more experienced staff for difficult and unusual situations.
  5. Stay up-to-date on all company products, services, and policies, and present a professional image at all times in appearance and behavior.
  6. Communicate effectively with other team members to improve overall operations, and perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.
Requirements
  • Minimum of two to five years of previous, relevant field service experience preferred.
  • Experience in one or more of the following industries preferred: Electronic Security.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience servicing, integrating, and programming access control systems, CCTV systems, and intrusion systems.
  • Access Control experience in any of the following products preferred: AMAG / Genetec / Lenel / Software House - CCURE / S2.
  • CCTV experience in the following products preferred: Milestone / Genetec / AXIS / Lenel.
  • Intrusion experience in the following products preferred: DMP / Bosch.
Skills
  • Developing exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure.
  • Developing technical skills and experience related to electronic security and/or other systems interfaced with same.
  • Programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions.
  • Must be a self-starter and work well with direct supervision.
  • Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Frequent visits to jobsites are required. Minimal overnight travel is required. Valid drivers license required.
  • Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Basic organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple service needs simultaneously.
  • Proficient computer skills including familiarity with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
