Advanced Practice Registered Nurse - Neurological Surgery
Job Summary:The University of Miami seeks a highly skilled Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to join our team in Neurological Surgery. As an APRN, you will deliver high-quality medical care to a diverse range of patients, working independently and collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure proper illness and injury care, disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform and document complete physical examinations and comprehensive health histories.
- Function independently to perform age-appropriate history and physical for patients.
- Order and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to patient's age-specific needs.
- Prescribe appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities.
- Implement interventions to support the patient to regain or maintain physiologic stability.
- Assist with the provision of care in accordance with facility, state, and federal regulations.
- Monitor the effectiveness of interventions.
- Facilitate the patient's transition within and between health care settings.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals.
- Facilitate staff, patient, and family decision making by providing educational tools.
- Master's degree in relevant field.
- Valid State of Florida APRN License.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
- Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
- Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
