About the Job

As a Culinary Specialist in the US Army, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals for troops in various settings, from field kitchens to garrison facilities. Your duties will include operating and maintaining kitchen equipment, performing preventative maintenance on equipment, and adhering to strict food safety protocols.

Requirements

To be eligible for this position, you must be a US citizen or green card holder between the ages of 17 and 34. You will also need a GED or high school diploma and meet the Army's height and weight standards. Prior culinary experience is not required, but a passion for cooking and attention to detail are essential.

Estimated Salary

Training and Development

Newly hired Culinary Specialists will undergo 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and 9 weeks of Advanced Individual Training, where they will learn the skills necessary to succeed in their role. This includes standard and dietetic menus, recipe preparation, and food and supply ordering.
