Reliability Systems Engineer

The Reliability Systems Engineer will focus full-time on developing software solutions, metrics, and processes that enhance the dependability of applications, websites, and systems in active use.
The primary duty of the Reliability Systems Engineer is to maintain the integrity, functionality, and reliability of applications and websites.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Design and implement software to identify unusual error patterns. Establish workflows and procedures aimed at recognizing and minimizing the total number of application/system errors.
Work collaboratively with software development teams throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to create and deploy solutions for availability, reliability, and error monitoring within their applications.
Take charge of identifying, isolating, or resolving errors, debugging issues, warnings, or other types of messages from existing logs to enhance overall log quality and utility.
Reduce system downtime by setting and enforcing standards for incident management, error tracking, monitoring, and alerting with the objective of improving established reliability metrics.
Respond effectively to escalated reliability issues at any time while on-call.Conduct ongoing research into best practices and emerging technologies for monitoring, alerting, error tracking, detection, and application performance.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
EXPERIENCE:
3+ years of experience using alerting and telemetry tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, Dynatrace, and others.
2+ years of experience with Splunk SPL.
2+ years of experience with at least one programming language such as PHP, Python, Java, or .Net.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
EXPERIENCE:
1+ years of experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD).
1+ years of experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
1+ years of experience with Prometheus.
1+ years of experience with SQL.
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Proficient troubleshooting in a large-scale networked environment.
Familiarity with Paycom's applications, systems, and databases.
