Protecting Patients and Residents: Infection Preventionist Role

At Hopkins Center in Wyncote, PA, we are committed to delivering high-quality healthcare and compassion to our patients and residents. As an Infection Preventionist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and health of our community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement infection control and prevention programs to minimize the risk of infection.
  • Manage the employee health program, including universal influenza vaccination.
  • Facilitate infection control training for new employees and conduct annual competency training for nurses administering tuberculosis testing.
  • Review immunization documentation and status for all new hires to ensure compliance.
  • Develop education programs in response to infection control needs identified through Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement.

Qualifications:

Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current registered nurse licensure. Infection Control and Prevention certification is strongly preferred. A minimum of three years of full-time nursing experience, with at least two years in long-term care nursing, is required. One year of management or supervisory experience is preferred.
