Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and bilingual individual to join our team as a Health Education Intern. As a Health Corps intern, you will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic team to develop and implement innovative health education programs for teens in New York City.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement health education programs for teens in 2-3 middle or high schools in New York City
  • Collaborate with teen wellness leaders and site partners to ensure effective delivery of HealthCorps' programming
  • Assess schools' needs and progress, and measure impact through needs assessment, reporting, and tracking
  • Manage Teens Make Health Happen Clubs, planning and implementing the successful delivery of the HealthCorps' program
  • Host Café O Yea demonstrations at each site monthly and support regional events
  • Support and contribute to HealthCorps' social media platforms by sharing program highlights, stories of impact, and photos
  • Represent HealthCorps in New York City, embodying and extending the organization's values and mission

Requirements

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Undergraduate or graduate college student majoring in public health, public policy, biology, nutrition, marketing, psychology, education, social work, or related field
  • In good academic standing with university
  • Commitment of 6-8+ hours each week to the mentorship for the entire semester
  • Self-expectation and strong desire to grow personally and professionally as a leader in the community, and as a speaker who is comfortable in learning and presenting on health-related topics to a teen audience
