Role Overview:

The Surgical Technologist plays a vital role in the surgical team by utilizing advanced skills to support patient care in the operating room while ensuring a safe and sterile environment. Key duties include facilitating quality patient care during surgical interventions and maintaining the integrity of the sterile field.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Expertise in aseptic technique and its practical application.
  • Preparation and organization of surgical instruments and supplies.
  • Assisting in patient readiness and room preparation.
  • Overseeing the sterility and appropriate use of surgical materials.
  • Documenting sterilization processes and participating in training sessions.
  • Contributing to the formulation of policies and procedural guidelines.

Qualifications:

A High School Diploma or GED is required. Current Basic Life Support certification for Healthcare Providers is mandatory. Candidates must be graduates of an accredited surgical technology program or have completed a military training program. A minimum of 2 years of experience in an operating room setting as a Surgical Technologist is essential. Current certification is preferred.
