Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plastic Fabricator Leader to join our team at the United States Fleet Forces Command. As a key member of our Production Resources Department, you will be responsible for leading a team of plastic fabricators to ensure the successful completion of various projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular inspections of in-process preservation work to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Perform inspections of deficient coatings and work in process to identify areas for improvement.
  • Determine the most effective methods, techniques, and materials for achieving smooth-textured and decorative surfaces.
  • Lead a team of up to 30 employees to apply, manufacture, and repair coating materials.
  • Develop and implement plans to minimize rework and optimize production efficiency.
Requirements
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
  • New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
  • Must be able to work in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present.
  • Must be able to travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites.
  • Must be able to climb vertical ladders when working aboard ships and submarines.
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces.
  • Must be able to lift and carry items weighing 45 pounds.

Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.
