Position Overview

Wooded Acres Animal Hospital is seeking dedicated individuals for the role of Animal Care Technician. We are open to hiring both certified veterinary technicians and veterinary support staff. Opportunities for both full-time and part-time employment are available. While prior experience is advantageous, we are eager to train enthusiastic candidates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgical procedures, dental care, and treatment of hospitalized animals.
  • Engage with clients to ensure optimal patient care, provide education, and advocate for animal health.
  • Safely restrain both canine and feline patients as needed.
  • Measure and record body weight and vital signs accurately.
  • Maintain comprehensive medical records by gathering medical histories and documenting essential information.
  • Adhere to sterilization protocols diligently.
  • Collect and process laboratory samples effectively.
  • Dispense medications and clarify instructions to clients as directed by the veterinarian.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization in all areas of the facility, including treatment rooms, surgical suites, examination areas, laboratories, and kennels.
  • Facilitate smooth patient flow throughout the hospital.
  • Communicate clearly with clients regarding veterinary instructions, lab results, post-operative care, and follow-up procedures.
  • Provide comfort and cleanliness for hospitalized patients while adhering to treatment plans as prescribed by the veterinarian.

This role requires physical stamina, including prolonged standing, bending, kneeling, and lifting.
