Job Title: Site Reliability Engineer

At Qualcomm, we are seeking a highly skilled Site Reliability Engineer to join our team. As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability, sustainability, and security of our infrastructure and services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor system health and detect anomalies to prevent service disruptions.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot issues related to services and implement proactive measures to prevent future incidents.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code (IaC) scripts for deployment and scaling.
  • Collaborate with development teams to optimize software performance and identify bottlenecks.
  • Forecast resource requirements based on traffic patterns and business growth, and scale infrastructure accordingly.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices, and implement security controls and participate in security audits.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field, and 6+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
  • Extensive Linux experience with servers and workstations, and ability to automate through scripting languages such as Python, Bash, Go, etc.
  • Experience with Jenkins, Puppet, Splunk, JIRA, Vault, Docker, AWS, Cloud services, etc.
  • Ability to respond rapidly to changing landscapes while providing stable, reliable, and secure services to customers.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science or related field.
  • 12+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience with Database Management Software.
  • 3+ years of experience with API.
  • 2+ years in a technical leadership role with or without direct reports.
  • 1+ year of work experience with Git, Perforce, or Source Code Management System.
