Job Summary

Athletic Trainers are staffed at each of our four high schools: La Costa Canyon, San Dieguito Academy, Torrey Pines, and Canyon Crest Academy.

The Athletic Trainer provides assistance to student athletes in the prevention, evaluation, care, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries under the supervision of the Assistant Principal and guidance and direction from the Athletic Director.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first aid, preventative, and rehabilitative treatment to athletes
  • Work a Monday-Friday schedule with occasional Saturday sports events
  • Develop and implement injury prevention programs
  • Collaborate with coaches and other staff members to ensure student athlete safety

Requirements

  • Valid National Athletic Trainers Association certification
  • CPR & First Aid certification
  • One year of experience providing first aid, preventative, and rehabilitative treatment to athletes

Employment Requirements

Employment with San Dieguito Union High School District is contingent upon successful completion of a post-offer background check, fingerprinting, physical exam, including tuberculosis, drug and alcohol screening, and an Oath of Allegiance.
