Patient Care Technician

Franciscan Health is seeking a skilled Patient Care Technician to join our team at the Lafayette East Campus. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate, comprehensive care to our patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform delegated patient care activities as directed by the RN or medical staff, ensuring safe, accurate, and high-quality treatment of patients.
• Document patient care and maintain accurate records.
• Participate in maintaining a clean and safe environment, including organization, cleaning, and safety of the unit.
• Assist in the admission, transfer, and discharge of patients as directed.
• Float to different units as needed to ensure efficient operation of the hospital.
Requirements
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior experience in a healthcare-related field preferred.
• Basic Life Support Program (BLS) certification required within 90 days.
• 6 months of experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant or completion of foundation courses if attending a Registered Nursing Program.
Work Schedule
• Option I: Work one weekend per month, with potential float to all units and work in various capacities as needed.
• Option II: Choose 12, 24, or 36 hours per week with assigned 2 consecutive shifts every 3rd or 4th weekend, and work one major and one minor holiday, plus one additional non-holiday.
