Business Analyst Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join our DOJ team. This is a hybrid position that will be performed on-site in Washington, DC. Key Responsibilities
  1. Defines and documents business processes using standard methodologies and tools.
  2. Ability to understand the IT application and the business needs of the clients.
  3. Ability to translate the client's business needs to specific application, operational, and non-functional requirements.
  4. Ability to document and analyze the required information and data.
  5. Ability to work with the technical team and the end users to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction.
  6. Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills.
  7. Translates technical information into clear, readable documents to be used by technical and non-technical personnel.
  8. Possesses strong analytical skills.
  9. Ability to analyze user procedures.
  10. Defines system objectives and features.
  11. Elicits, analyzes, verifies and specifies system requirements and business rules.
  12. Assists in identifying testing requirements and performing application testing.
  13. Works closely with technical staff to develop and implement the system.
  14. Conducts gap analysis.

Required Minimum Qualifications
  1. A bachelor's degree in operations research, Mathematics, Computer Science, Cost Accounting or related scientific or technical discipline.
  2. Experience in the effective use of data provided by cost estimators to create overall cost versus benefit assessment while considering functional benefits, technical performance, risks, and schedule concerns.
  3. Minimum 5 years' experience
  4. Active TS clearance
  5. CSM Certification
  6. Microsoft Power BI, Qlik, or Tableau dashboard development experience
  7. Experience with SQL-based RDBMS
  8. Experience with ETL, data prep, data quality, data cleansing, data normalization techniques
  9. Client-facing communication skills
  10. Ability to develop efficient data models for use in BI applications
  11. Ability to meet moderate level background check or higher
  12. U.S. Citizenship required
