About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Health Manager to lead our efforts in creating a safe and healthy work environment for all our partners, customers, and visitors. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining effective environmental and safety programs that meet or exceed regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compliance and Regulatory Management: Lead efforts to improve safety and environmental compliance for applicable programs, ensuring that our plant meets or exceeds regulatory requirements.
  • Written Programs and Policies: Develop, maintain, and improve written environmental, health, and safety programs, ensuring that they are up-to-date and compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Training and Development: Oversee and administer safety and environmental training programs, ensuring that all partners receive the necessary training to perform their jobs safely and effectively.
  • Incident Investigations and Root Cause Analysis: Conduct thorough investigations of incidents, including spills, safety incidents, and recordable events, to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Behavior-Based Safety: Conduct partner safety observations (PSO) training for leaders and validate the quality and quantity of observations to continuously improve.
  • Accountability and Budget Management: Manage the plant safety budget and ensure that all safety and environmental initiatives are aligned with company goals and objectives.
  • Worker's Compensation and Return-to-Work Programs: Work with HR and safety teams to successfully drive plant worker's comp cases to resolution and implement return-to-work programs.
  • Project Participation and Collaboration: Participate in initiatives and projects outside of plant responsibilities as needed, collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve company goals.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma/GED plus license/certification in occupational safety and health, plus 5 years of experience in creation and implementation of safety programs. Or, bachelor's degree plus 3 years of experience in creation and implementation of safety programs.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Experience with creating training programs, conducting plant audits, and generating reports of audit findings. Ability to travel up to 15% and possess a valid driver's license, auto insurance, and an acceptable driving record.
